On Sunday, January 26th, Flora of Miami hosted a heartwarming and insightful workshop, “Growing Minds: Cultivating Executive Functioning Skills Through Gardening and Connection,” led by the incredible Columba Yebaile. Families gathered at our garden center for a morning of learning, laughter, and hands-on gardening, discovering how nature can be a powerful tool for developing essential life skills in children.
Columba shared valuable insights on how gardening nurtures planning, organization, self-regulation, and problem-solving, all while strengthening relationships and fostering emotional growth. Parents and children worked side by side, planting, exploring, and engaging in meaningful activities that emphasized collaboration and connection.
Seeing little hands in the soil, curious minds at work, and families growing together was truly inspiring. We loved hearing parents share their excitement about incorporating these ideas into their daily routines and watching children embrace the joys of gardening.
🌿 A huge thank you to everyone who attended and made this event such a success! We’re grateful for this wonderful community and can’t wait to host more events that bring people and nature together. Stay tuned for future workshops and activities at Flora of Miami!
